There are many factors to keep in mind regarding wildfire mitigation, but a top priority for Wildfire Mitigation Advisors is the impact of Urban Conflagrations on human health and ecological systems like water, soil, and air. The Tubbs Fire, Lahaina Fire, and the Palisades Fire are merely three examples of Urban Conflagrations, which have dramatic differences between wildland fires. Wildland fires — typically forest fires removed from buildings — produce smoke that is very unhealthy for mammals but the composition of that smoke pales in comparison to toxic emissions when garages, school buses, power walls, and K-Marts burn to the ground.
Firefighters and anyone else staying behind to fight fires are exposed to dangerous levels of chemical exposure. Countless people walk away with “invisible injuries.” Invisible injuries to a person describe someone who does not obviously display an injury, but in the future exemplifies the outcome of those exposures. Two examples of invisible injuries include traumatic stress and toxic exposures from urban fires.
With this in mind, Wildfire Mitigation Advisors is deeply committed to reducing impacts to life safety and structure protection by advising clients on everything they can do to prepare themselves and properties, while also highlighting site specific property interventions.
