On May 22, 2025, I was honored to present alongside architects Natasha Juliana and Ann Edminster on wildfire preparedness at the 2025 US Green Building Conference at Fort Mason in San Francisco. Hundreds of people attended the event, representing the building industry, government agencies, non-profits, and academia.
Our panel covered fire weather awareness, defensible space, structure hardening, and the relationship between environmental health and urban conflagrations. We emphasized the importance of designing and building structures that can resist wildfire, and how green building practices intersect with wildfire resilience.
